Fuel Hose Question

I went to an auto parts store today to get some fuel hose and the guy asked "Fuel Injected" or other. I said fuel injected and he brought back hose that he said was $5 a foot(this guy pissed me off about 10 seconds earlier by telling me, as if I was some child,to stay behind the counter, when I was going to walk back with him so the asshole didnt cut the wrong type of hose), anyway. I was just wondering if he was trying to rip me off or what? I always get the regular 70 cent a foot stuff and it has always worked out. Btw, I got 5/16 hose that he said wasn't for Fuel Injection, and it fits but is not super tight like the stuff that I usually use, do I need to use a size smaller?

CROM, do NOT use the regular fuel line hose! It is not rated to handle the kind of fuel pressures the FMU can create and it will rupture under boost. Go for the fuel injection rated hose. Alex

I've paid $3-$4 per foot for that hose.

Don't use non-FI hose.

Well,

First off, Jackson Racing didnt send us that type of hose(the codes on the JR hoses and the 60cent hose I bought are the same).

Plus, I have always bought the 60cent a foot hose and have never been told that there was this magical "fuel injected" hose. The 60 cent a food stuff has always worked fine for me, no leaks, nuthin.

If you're talking the return line AFTER the RR FPR, that can be low pressure hose. Before that point, the hose should be the good stuff.

Well, I have never used the expensive stuff for the line from my AEM FPR to my JR unit...it has always been the cheap stuff...

I guess I will bite the bullet and go get some 8million dollar a foot hose.
